what a shame
Heavy were the days,
Carrying that weight.
Drank all of the wine,
Swore that I was fine.
But you always saw right through me.
I became lucid, it’s a dream.
What a relief I could just wake up now…
But I don’t have the energy,
I’ve become my own worst enemy
Bit tired, bit wired, and a little bit out of my mind.
I’m running low on empathy,
You took what was left in me:
Built up, built doubt, and now there’s no way out.
Called you on the phone.
Your voicemail said no one’s home
So I left a message
I Instantly regretted
And you always saw right through me
Thought it was a lie I could keep
Killed me inside then crawled its way out…
Now I don’t have the energy
I’ve become my own worst enemy
Bit tired, bit wired, and a little bit out of my mind
I’m running low on empathy
You took what was left in me
Built up, built doubt, and now there’s no way out
If I had known
I never would have let you stay home
And still to this day,
I wish I had done the same
What a shame
What a shame
What a shame
What a shame …
