chai on an empty stomach
Chai on an empty stomach
Bitter tannins nauseated
Retched trying not to vomit
Unsuccessful
Early morning reading
Slog of a book
Didn’t think I’d finish
Ending underwhelming
Sunrise later and later each day
Waiting for the darkness to fade
Into light to venture out
Routine walk, routine doubt
Mornings so certain
If/ then statements
Rest of the day, I’ll waste it
Tomorrow repeats
There is here
There is now
In the quiet hours
Until the chatter of the day awakens
And all that was
Or will be collides
I am absent
From my own time
Contemplating existence again
Contemplating the confines of time
Contemplating the walls of my mind
Contemplating nothing of use
