teeth
I roam unfamiliar halls with
A familiar sense of unease
Certain I am bait for a creature
Who will eat me as they please
Will I be devoured whole,
In one single bite?
Or slowly masticated, piece by piece
To their delight?
Small, frail, delicate
A thing that only knows fear
Broken, shattered, fragmented
Throughout many short years
Will I be enjoyed again,
Like I once was?
Or will they spit me out,
Tasting all my flaws?
Strong, firm, capable
The things I am in dreams
Soft, plush, malleable
Ripped apart at the seams
A sense of dread interwoven
Chain links in my mind
The doom I know is coming
I never seem to find
